Philosophy
At Live Arts Education, we describe ourselves as "mobile enrichment." This means we come directly into schools & classrooms with all the materials we need for a good after school experience. Through mobile enrichment, we offer theatrical programming which includes elements of acting, art, music, & movement for grades K-12 in the Boston area. While our classes are fun for our students, every class works toward an educational goal & supports teamwork, moral development, wise choices, & positive peer support. We unite with teachers and schools in order to address important issues. We believe that our programming is not just something to "do" after school but rather an activity that leads us to "do" good in our lives. Our focus is on building better individuals for a better community.

What is Live Arts?
Staffing Standards: we set high standards around hiring and staffing. Minimum hiring requirements look for staff with at least one degree in the arts, education, or a related field as well as at least 2 years of teaching experience in a classroom, camp, enrichment or other student-centered environment. Most of our staff have been teaching for at least 4 years and many are professional artists/actors in the greater Boston area.

Staffing Quality: Live Arts prioritizes not only the needs of our students and schools but also values community roll modeling. Our varied staff includes professional performers, artists, & designers who continue other enriching employment in the area. This means they show up energetic and excited at the end of the school day to share their time and experience with our students. It also means you may find them in your own communities onstage in a band, showing their work at a gallery, acting in a musical, doing stand-up comedy, serving delicious food, or entertaining at a party.

Mobility: Getting the best of our program never requires a field trip or stepping off your school property. Live Arts Education has no store front or home location where we greet children. We always greet our children in their environment. We do the work of adapting to our students and their home place of learning.
